Woodhands covers “Electric Avenue”

Toronto’s electronic duo, Woodhands, released a cover of Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue” (aka one of my favorite songs ever). As a fan of the smash 80s sensation, I say it’s a good homage. The duo is releasing an EP of “remixes, restylings and reworkings” on March 3. Dancer EP will be out on Paper Bag Records.… Continue reading Woodhands covers “Electric Avenue”

New Lonely Island: “Boombox (ft. Julian Casablancas)”

On the last day before the release of their debut album, Incredibad, The Lonely Island released another track, “Boombox,” featuring Julian Casablancas of The Strokes. Much like their last single “I’m On A Boat,” the song plays on more subtle humor than, say, “Jizz in My Pants” or “Dick In A Box.” It’s all about… Continue reading New Lonely Island: “Boombox (ft.
