Shearwater makes the weird, overly dramatic music video of your dreams

Huh? Ok, I like weird music videos as much as the next guy, but Shearwater’s video for “Hidden Lakes” gives off too much of a “This video MEANS something. We are 100 percent serious” vibe. The straw hat, HUGE eyelashes, eating something weird off the ground… it all just screams “metaphooorrrrrr….” But instead of trying to figure it all out, I just found myself screaming “DON’T KILL THE DOGS!!” the whole time. Seriously. Too cute to kill.

“Hidden Lakes” is on Shearwater’s new album The Golden Archipelago in U.S. stores Tuesday on Matador.
